A break in the weather |
Description: |
I think this was one of three sunny days in Pennsylvania this month. An overcast morning improved with the clouds turning white and fluffy by afternoon. Here at Horningford Road crossing NS 2567 leads a string of empty hoppers westward. |

1100 miles gets ya rain |
Description: |
I thought the forecast suggested a break in the weather, climbed on the Harley and headed east. Arriving in Cassandra, I found the Railroad Overlook Motel - if not fancy - clean and comfortable. But the moonlit night had ill portents with lightning in the distance. Come Thursday morning rain was dripping from the gutters as I peered out from between the drapes. As the saying goes, "wherever you go, there you are", and so I unfolded the rain suit and made the best of it. Heres one of the few trains NS runs on the Pittsburgh line - a paltry shadow of former CR and PRR traffic levels. |
